Delete your Stella account
App: Stella (meal planner). Developer: Seth Baker.
You can permanently delete your Stella account and all associated data at any time. This page describes how to do it, what gets deleted, what is retained, and how long retention lasts.
How to delete your account inside the app
- Open the Stella app on your device and sign in.
- Tap the Profile tab at the bottom right.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Profile screen.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion in the prompt that appears.
The action is immediate and cannot be undone.
How to request deletion by email
If you can't access the app — for example, because you've uninstalled it — email benjibakerassistant@gmail.com from the address associated with your account and ask for deletion. We will process the request within 30 days and email you when it is complete.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, the following are removed permanently:
- Your profile and preferences (email, diet tags, allergens, household size, calorie targets, etc.)
- All recipes you have saved or imported
- All meal plans and calendar entries
- All grocery lists and grocery items
- All pantry items
- All cookbooks
- All messages exchanged with the Stella assistant
- Any receipt or recipe photos you uploaded
- Your push notification token
- Your household membership, if any; household-shared data you authored is removed. Data authored by other household members remains under their accounts.
What is retained, and for how long
- Purchase records (Apple / Google / RevenueCat): transaction records are retained by our payment providers for legal, tax, and chargeback purposes. These records are anonymized with respect to Stella — they contain only your app store transaction ID and the product purchased, not your email or in-app content. Retention is set by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat and is outside Stella's control.
- Receipt and recipe images in backup storage: on a best-effort schedule, images are purged from our backups within 30 days of account deletion.
- Server logs: standard request/error logs that may contain your anonymized user ID (UUID) are retained for up to 30 days for security and reliability, then deleted.
Deleting specific data without deleting your account
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove individual content. Inside the app you can:
- Delete individual recipes, meal plan entries, grocery items, pantry items, and cookbooks
- Clear an entire grocery list at once from the Groceries tab
- Reset your conversation with Stella from the chat screen
- Edit or clear profile preferences
